Executive Changelog

If you want to see the pinnacle of accountability and transparency in FOSS project governance, take a look at Stormy’s blog post, where she details all the things she has done for GNOME this past week. It’s detailed but not verbose, and it demonstrates to everybody the value she brings to the project while also inviting people to get involved in parts of her work they might care about. Best of all, her feed is slurped by PlanetGNOME, so everybody who cares about GNOME sees it. It’s an incredibly effective communication.

This is a model of open governance I’d like to see copied to other orgs. I’m going to talk to a few other Free Software projects about executive changelogs.
